The Tracey Cox Twin Silicone Vibrating Love Ring is one of the more complex rings available.
However, it is affordable at $24.99. The other cock rings I’ve reviewed have all been substantially more expensive… we’ll get to why in a bit.
Quite simply, it’s a cock ring targeted at couples. It’s in a mid-range price bracket because it is built of silicone, has a moderately sized vibrator: The Tracey Cox Supersex Bullet vibrator can be replaced with anything of similar size… The We-Vibe Tango is a great fit and EXCELLENT bullet vibe.
This cock ring is also intended for longer term usage than some of the $4-5 dollar jelly rings (stay away from the jelly rings. You’d be better off skipping a few of them and picking up something that is safer and will last forever).
There are two big differences between this particular ring, and the luxury rings I’ve reviewed before (the Ego E3 and Je Joue Mio).
The Ego E3 and Je Joue Mio were both rechargeable, and this cock ring is not. (this coupled with the build quality account for the price differences)
The Vibrating Love Ring has two bands, whereas the Mio and E3 only had a single band.
The cock ring itself is made of silicone, and the replaceable bullet is made of plastic (ABS plastic, I believe).
Because the cock ring portion of the toy is silicone, I would highly recommend using only water based lubes with it. If you separate the bullet from the male masturbation toy for some pinpoint vibrations, it can be used with your choice of lubes, but I would be careful to keep any oil based lube away from the gasket under the button/cap, as the o-ring isn’t mentioned anywhere. If the o-ring is rubber, oil based lubes could degrade the material.
The bullet isn’t anything particularly fancy…. it is just a run of the mill battery operated single speed bullet vibe.
The single speed isn’t very powerful; this may be a pro to some.
It is also completely submersible (waterproof), making this ring great for submersed play (tub, pool… wherever you desire to play). The bullet does take a single AAA battery to run.
The Tracey Cox ring is supposed to be able to stretch up to 2 inches, and while I didn’t measure (it’s hard to stretch and measure something at the same time) it fit around the widest part of one of my bigger toys (the Tantus T-Rex).
Both bands stretched just fine to go around the widest portion of the Tantus T-Rex, which comes in at 2.25 inches.
I wouldn’t recommend pushing the material this far everytime, but it can stretch a bit more than the manufacturer states.
I’ve played with a couple of different rings, as mentioned before. I’ve also tried the uber cheap jelly rings (almost unanimously), they suck. The vibes are all weak and the rings generally aren’t tight enough to serve for a harder erection) and this does fall toward the lower end of the spectrum both in price and in use.
The smaller part of the cock ring, designed to be worn at the base of the cock fits wonderfully, but is as big as most rings that I wear around both my cock and balls. I prefer the tighter rings (and the cock and balls wearing of said rings) for both the visual aspect and the fact that they give me a firmer boner.
With the smaller ring pulled around my cock and balls, the material is too stretchy to offer much in the way of constriction so overall there isn’t much trapped blood. This means that purely as a cock ring, this particular ring is a failure for me. Now… the bigger ring. There’s not much for me to say here!
The smaller part of this cock ring was too forgiving and the bigger ring is even stretchier… the bigger ring comes off as a gimmick on this particular model.
It may work for some folks, but for me… It’s unneeded.
I did try it as intended (the small ring around the shaft, and the big ring around the balls) but as I drew closer to orgasm, my balls simply ascended right through the bigger ring.
The vibrator.. is a cheap vibrator. It’s not very powerful (even compared to other inexpensive bullet vibes) and as such, doesn’t add much to the ring. HOWEVER, because the vibrator is removable… You can replace it with a better bullet vibe (again, I’m recommending the We-Vibe Tango) and it will transform this subpar ring into something that can be a lot of fun even for all of its failures.
Although the smaller ring isn’t tight enough to serve much function as a cock ring, overall the toy can succeed with help from stronger vibrations.
The front side of the vibe slot is nubby.
A bullet vibe such as the Tango could add a lot to sex by powering vibrations through the nubs and onto the clit. Another plus with a better vibe is that the ring IS tight enough to transfer vibrations to (and through) the shaft of the cock.
This cock ring just wasn’t for me. The silicone was too stretchy to offer much constriction, the larger band was too big to my nuts from drawing close at orgasm, and the vibrator that comes with it is mediocre at best.
For people that are new to cock rings however, the Love Ring may be a perfect step to wade beyond the craptastic jelly rings sold at every seedy adult shop on the planet. It does offer a way to provide more stimulation to a woman’s clit, and the fact that the vibe can be replaced with a better vibrator is pretty dandy.
The bullet itself may be worth it for those that don’t crave super strong vibrations (different strokes for different folks).
